This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information for the Taled waitlist and pre-launch website under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Taled will be an Australian peer-to-peer marketplace for preloved books. We are building that product now. This version of the policy covers the waitlist and marketing site only (not live buying, selling, or payouts). When we open accounts and trading, we will publish an updated Privacy Policy.
We do not publish a street address on this site. Contact us by email.
1. What we collect
When you join the waitlist or use this site, we may collect:

Waitlist details you submit — typically name (if asked), email address, and any optional preferences (for example buyer/seller interest or suburb/postcode if you choose to provide it);
•
Messages you send us by email or through a contact/waitlist form;
•
Technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, approximate location from IP, and cookies or similar technologies needed to run and secure the site;
•
Analytics data if we use a privacy-aware analytics tool (we will name tools in our cookie notice when they are enabled).
We do not ask for payment card details on the waitlist.
2. Why we collect it
We use this information to:
•
run the waitlist and tell you when Taled is open or when there is a meaningful update;
•
respond if you contact us;
•
understand interest in Taled (for example rough demand by region) in aggregated form where we can;
•
keep the site secure and working;
•
meet legal obligations if they apply.
We will not sell your email address. We will not use waitlist emails for unrelated third-party marketing.
If we send marketing about Taled’s launch, we will include a way to unsubscribe. Service messages about the waitlist itself may still be sent when needed.
3. Who we share it with
We may share personal information with service providers who help us run the site, for example:
•
website hosting (for example Vercel);
•
analytics or security providers (if enabled).
They are only allowed to use the information to provide their service to us. Some providers may store or access data outside Australia (for example in the United States). Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps consistent with the APPs.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect Taled, our users, or the public from serious harm or fraud.
4. Storage and security
We keep waitlist information only as long as we need it for the purposes above (including until launch communications are finished, unless you ask us to delete it sooner and we are not required to keep it). We use reasonable security measures; no online system is perfectly secure.
5. Access, correction, and deletion
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your waitlist personal information by emailing privacy@taled.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time. You can also unsubscribe from marketing using the link in our emails where provided.
6. Complaints

If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) — oaic.gov.au.
7. Children
The waitlist is aimed at people 16+. If you believe a child under 16 has joined with personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as Taled grows (especially when the marketplace opens). The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be highlighted on the site where practical.
